GUESS WHAT I WANT?
"Hello,"
said Bronson as Iffley left Adena. "It is a pleasure and an honor to meet
the Enchantress of Furanoss."
"Hello,"
said the startled Adena. "May I ask the name of the man who is honored to
meet me?"
"Yes,"
stated Bronson after a short pause.
"Well,
what is your name?" asked Adena.
"I
am Bronson Randolf. I contacted you by telepathy the other day."
"Oh,
yes. I remember. Why do you come to my land, Furanoss, this day?"
"I
wish to discuss the Belt of Excho with you."
"How
do you know I have the Belt" inquired Adena, "and what do you wish
to discuss about it?"
"I
know you have the Belt because it was in Enad's possession before he went into
the eighth dimension and Enad was in your palace."
"Well,"
stated Adena, "you've got me there."
"I
simply came to retrieve the Belt or equal compensation" stated Bronson,
"and I would certainly wish to be able to do it without force, I would
rather use charm and diplomacy."
"That
is good." Adena answered. "I do not care for unnecessary violence
either. I will consider your proposal on the matter."
"I
am also interested in the Shard of Zenith from the Crystal. I understand it
holds certain powers."
"Yes.
It has the power to see the past and the future."
"Oh,
I see."
"No.
It sees."
"Whatever,"
said an exasperated Bronson.
"Now
that we've discussed business," Adena said, "was there anything else
you wanted?"
"Yes.
I was wondering about that amulet. I know the pearls are for transport. I
heard the Wizard say that, but what are its other powers?"
"That's
for me to know and for you to find out" said Adena.
"Oh,
a challenge," said Bronson. "Not to worry, I'll find out."
"That's
what you think. All that I will tell you is its name."
"Which
is?" asked Bronson.
"The
Amulet of Wisdym, replied Adena, "and that is all I will let you know.
You seem to know something of me, now tell me something of yourself."
"I
am the last relative of that little twit Enad the..." as Bronson choked
slightly, ..."'Enad the Great.' He used the rest of the family for Swolsk
food."
"Yes.
I heard about that. Quite a shame."
"Yes,
it was. That is why I lost no tears over his journey into the eighth
dimension. I do have powers of my own," continued Bronson. "I will
only tell you though of my power of regeneration and restoration. I am
presently using it to turn the Wastelands into a rain forest and to restore
the lands of my kingdom into a beautiful paradise. I believe that is about all
you need to know of me at present."
"Good
enough," replied Adena.
Bronson
did not tell Adena that his telepathy picked up on her thoughts about her
Amulet and of its powers.
"It
has been a pleasure talking with you Adena. Please keep in mind our discussion
about the Belt. I look forward to our next meeting."
"Yes.
I will think on the matter. It has been a pleasure meeting you as well. Until
we meet again."
With
a twist of his emerald and diamond encrusted ring, Bronson disappeared and
dropped off the stranded Adena at her palace. He returned to his newly
constructed palace to continue the restoration of his lands and to install
devices to keep Enad from returning from the eighth dimension to the land of
Bronson's Paradise.
